Ruth Mary Johnson

Born in Barrow-in-Furness, Ruth Mary Johnson is a Theatre Maker who directs, performs, writes, and facilitates the telling of stories with, alongside and for a range of audiences. She has a particular passion for exploring ways in which stories can be co-created and audiences can take ownership of the stories being told. Theatre credits include directing The Winter's Tale for young audiences at the National Theatre, writing, directing and performing Chicken Licken: a Tale Jam, Perfectly Norman: a Story Gig Izzy Gizmo: a Story Gig, The Tin Foil Astronaut. Ruth also works as Clown Doctor for TinArts, taking the idea of play into hospital settings. Ruth loved being back in Barrow to creatively connect with home for the Life Through Laundry project.
